From knowledge exchange to practical action.

ACT4Consumers combines training, practical learning, study visits, workshops and cross-border cooperation. Throughout the project, consumer organisations from Croatia, Austria and Italy will exchange experience, develop practical knowledge and work together to strengthen the implementation of representative actions.

This section follows the ACT4Consumers journey — from learning from experienced partners to developing practical tools and sharing the project’s results with the wider European consumer movement.

🇮🇹 Study visit to Italy — learning from experience in Bolzano

9–11 September 2026 · Bolzano, Italy · Host: CTCU

The first international study visit will take the ACT4Consumers partners to Bolzano, Italy, hosted by Centro Tutela Consumatori Utenti (CTCU). The visit will provide Croatian and Austrian partners with an opportunity to learn from Italian experience in consumer protection, collective redress and cross-border cooperation. Participants will exchange practical experiences, discuss challenges and explore approaches that could be transferred to the Croatian context.

Focus: practical experience in collective consumer protection · representative and collective redress mechanisms · consumer organisations’ experience in handling collective cases · cross-border cooperation · lessons that can be adapted to Croatia.

Outputs: Study Visit Report – Italy · documentation and learning materials · lessons learned · recommendations for the Croatian context.

🇭🇷 Training & capacity building — building practical skills

Croatia · throughout the project

ACT4Consumers goes beyond raising awareness. A central part of the project is strengthening the practical capacity of Croatian Qualified Entities and other consumer organisations to understand, prepare and effectively implement representative actions. Training combines legal and procedural knowledge with practical exercises, case-study analysis, simulations and peer learning.

Training will address: legal aspects of representative actions · procedural requirements · strategic considerations · preparation and management of representative actions · practical case analysis · internal procedures and organisational capacity.

The aim is not simply to learn about representative actions, but to develop the practical knowledge, skills and organisational readiness needed to use them effectively.

🇦🇹 Training in Austria — building expertise through European learning

March 2027 · Austria · Host: VSV

As part of the capacity-building programme, project partners will take part in a dedicated training activity in Austria hosted by Verbraucherschutzverein (VSV). The training builds on the project’s activities in Croatia and introduces participants to Austrian experience and expertise, combining expert input with discussion, practical exercises and peer learning.

Focus: legal and procedural aspects of representative actions · practical approaches to collective redress · strategic considerations · practical case studies · organisational and procedural preparation · exchange of experience between Croatian and Austrian consumer organisations.

🇦🇹 Study visit to Austria — learning from practice in Vienna

Early 2028 (date to be confirmed) · Vienna, Austria · Host: VSV

The second international study visit will take place in Vienna, hosted by Verbraucherschutzverein (VSV). Building on the project’s earlier training activities, Croatian partners will learn directly from Austrian experience with representative actions and collective redress, and explore how practical approaches can be transferred to the Croatian context.

Focus: practical experience with representative actions · litigation and enforcement strategies · collective redress procedures · organisational preparation · practical challenges and lessons learned · transfer of good practices to Croatia.

Outputs: Study Visit Report – Austria · documentation and learning materials · lessons learned · recommendations for Croatian Qualified Entities and other stakeholders.

🇪🇺 Three workshops — sharing knowledge beyond the consortium

ACT4Consumers foresees three workshops aimed at stakeholders outside the project consortium. They will present project results and practical tools, discuss challenges in implementing representative actions, exchange experiences with other Member States and European networks, and transfer knowledge and good practices beyond the consortium.

The workshops are an important part of the project’s dissemination strategy and European added value.

🇧🇪 Final workshop in Brussels — sharing results with Europe

2028 · Brussels, Belgium

The ACT4Consumers journey will culminate in a final workshop in Brussels, bringing together project partners and stakeholders beyond the consortium to present project results, discuss the challenges of implementing representative actions and exchange experiences with other European organisations and networks.

The Brussels workshop is particularly important for the project’s European dimension — it is designed to ensure that the knowledge and experience developed through ACT4Consumers reach stakeholders beyond the project consortium.

🤝 Cross-border cooperation — learning across borders

ACT4Consumers connects consumer organisations from Croatia, Austria and Italy, combining the experience of Croatian organisations with the practical expertise of partners from countries with more established experience in collective redress. Through study visits, training, workshops and peer learning, partners will identify practices that can be transferred to the Croatian context.

The cooperation is intended to create benefits beyond the consortium by making project knowledge and results available to other consumer organisations and stakeholders across Europe.
