Društvo Potrošačica is announcing a call for an expert associate on the European project ACT4Consumers – Capacity & Tools for Collective Actions, co-funded by the European Union under the Single Market Programme.
The project is implemented by Društvo Potrošačica in partnership with Društvo Potrošača Međimurja and the Austrian organisation Verbraucherschutzverein (VSV), with the Italian organisation Centro Tutela Consumatori Utenti (CTCU) as associated partner.
The selected candidate will provide legal and expert support in implementing project activities, particularly in the area of collective consumer protection and the implementation of Directive (EU) 2020/1828 on representative actions.
Job description
Within the project, the expert associate will take part in:
- implementing activities related to Directive (EU) 2020/1828 on representative actions,
- drafting national guidelines for implementing representative actions in Croatia,
- preparing expert and educational materials,
- participating in trainings, workshops and project meetings,
- analysing the legal and institutional framework of collective consumer protection,
- carrying out public information and awareness-raising activities.
International cooperation
The project also includes international activities enabling the exchange of experience with organisations that have long-standing practice in consumer protection.
A three-day study visit to Italy is planned for the fourth or fifth month of the project (August or September 2026), hosted by the associated partner Centro Tutela Consumatori Utenti (CTCU) from Bolzano, one of Italy’s leading consumer organisations. The visit will focus on good practices in consumer protection, alternative dispute resolution and collective redress.
The project also includes expert training in Austria organised by the partner Verbraucherschutzverein (VSV). Through practical education and exchange of experience, participants will learn about the Austrian model of implementing representative actions and other effective collective redress mechanisms.
Start of engagement
Work is planned to start as soon as possible, and no later than 1 August 2026. The engagement lasts 21 months, part-time, according to the needs of the project.
